Why Is It Done?
Teeth whitening is done to improve the appearance of your smile by treating:

Surface stains from food, coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, etc.

Yellowing caused by enamel thinning

Stains from certain medications (in some cases)
Note: Whitening does not work on crowns, veneers, or fillings.
How Is It Done?
In-Office Whitening (Professional)

Stronger whitening agents (usually hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide)

Gums and lips are protected with a barrier
-
Whitening gel is applied to the teeth
-
Sometimes, a special light or laser is used to accelerate the process

Takes about 45–90 minutes per session

How Many Visits Are Required?
In-Office Whitening:

Usually 1 visit is enough to see noticeable results
-
1–3 sessions may be needed for deeper stains
